Day 1 Saigon to Cai Be by bicycle
About an hour's drive brings you to Long An, where the Delta begins. From there you cycle roughly 25 km through rice paddies and dragon-fruit farms toward My Tho, your guide pointing out the cactus-like fruit trees along the way. A short village track leads to a rice-noodle workshop in My Phong, run by methods the local Chinese community has used since 1679. After lunch in My Tho, you transfer to Cai Lay to collect fresh bicycles and ride about two hours on quiet lanes past fruit gardens, bean fields, and small markets before settling into Cai Be for the night.
-
Day 2 Canals and brick kilns to Can Tho
A gentle half-hour ride under tree cover brings you to the Vinh Long ferry crossing, then a longer stretch of cycling continues toward Can Tho. The route shifts with conditions and interest, often passing brick-kiln villages with their terracotta roofs, rice fields, and riverside hamlets. After lunch you can choose a short van transfer or keep cycling through the canals to Dong Thanh Khmer pagoda. Late afternoon brings you into Can Tho itself, either along the waterfront or across the suspension bridge by bicycle.
-
Day 3 Cai Rang market and the ride back
An early boat takes you out to Cai Rang, one of the last true floating markets in Asia, where traders sell produce straight from their boats. From there you move on to quieter canals and stop at a rice mill or vermicelli workshop before a two-hour ride under jungle canopy through small canal-side villages. After lunch you transfer back to Saigon, though riders who want more time in the saddle can ask their guide for a final stretch through orchards or rice fields.
