Itinerary

Every part can be changed to suit your group.

  1. Day 1 Saigon to Can Tho

Leave Saigon at 08:00 for the drive of about two hours to Cai Lay, where the cycling begins. Spend around two hours riding rural lanes through villages, canals and fruit-growing areas with rambutan, durian, longan and jackfruit. Along the way, see local harvests and small workshops making coconut candy and puffed rice, with a stop near Cai Be Catholic Church. Continue by boat across the Mekong, then ride shaded local paths before crossing at Dinh Khao ferry and continuing through rice-field roads and riverside communities toward Can Tho.

  2. Day 1, Late Afternoon Rice Fields Toward Can Tho

After the Dinh Khao ferry, continue by vehicle to Cai Ngang and return to the bicycles for another ride of around two hours. The route follows smaller roads through rice-growing countryside and settlements along the waterways, with a Khmer pagoda seen along the way. Depending on timing and conditions, there is an optional stop near Can Tho Bridge to watch the late-day light over the Hau River. Continue into the Can Tho area by bicycle or support vehicle.

Continue into a quieter canal before returning to the bicycles. Ride for around two hours along smaller riverside roads, passing banana plants, fruit orchards, local markets and people travelling by bicycle and scooter.
