-
Day 1 Saigon to Ben Tre and Can Tho
We pick you up in Saigon at around 7:30 AM and drive to Ben Tre, the coconut province of the delta. After a bike fitting, we cycle small roads through coconut groves, over narrow bridges and along canals, stopping at family workshops making coconut candy and mats. Lunch is in the countryside. In the afternoon we transfer to Can Tho, the largest city of the Mekong Delta, and check in to our hotel by the river. The evening is free to walk along the riverside promenade or explore the night market.
-
Day 2 Can Tho Countryside by Bike
A full day of cycling around Can Tho. We ride through local lanes, fruit gardens and small bridges into quiet communities where daily life moves slowly. Lunch is served in a countryside garden, and in the afternoon we visit a local workshop, a small market or a riverside pagoda, depending on the day. We return to Can Tho in the late afternoon for a second night, with time to rest or try local dishes on the waterfront with your guide’s suggestions.
-
Day 3 Floating Market and On to Long Xuyen
We start at around 5:30 AM with a boat trip to the Cai Rang floating market, where farmers sell fruit and vegetables from their boats and families eat breakfast on the water. After breakfast we continue deeper into the delta, mixing cycling on quiet country roads with short transfers. We pass rice fields, canals and small villages, with plenty of photo stops. We reach Long Xuyen, a calm river town few visitors see, in the late afternoon.
-
Day 4 Long Xuyen to Chau Doc
We cycle out of Long Xuyen through rural roads, river communities and open rice fields, a part of the delta that feels far from the main tourist routes. After lunch in the countryside, we continue to Chau Doc, a border town where Vietnamese, Khmer, Cham and Chinese communities live side by side. In the late afternoon we drive up Sam Mountain to watch the sun set over the rice plains that stretch into Cambodia.
-
Day 5 Chau Doc and Return to Saigon
In the morning we take a boat to a Cham village with wooden stilt houses and a mosque, and see the floating fish farms on the Bassac River. If time allows, we visit the Tra Su flooded forest. After lunch the private car takes us back to Saigon, arriving in the evening. If you are continuing to Cambodia, you can take the speedboat from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh instead.
