Itinerary
Every part can be changed to suit your group.
-
Day 1 Hanoi to Ha Giang and Quan Ba
We leave Hanoi early in the morning by comfortable limousine bus or private car and reach Ha Giang city around midday. After lunch you meet your easy riders, who check the bikes, fit your helmet and explain how to ride as a passenger: relax, lean with the driver and enjoy the view. We set off on the loop, climbing to the Quan Ba Heaven Gate with its wide view of the twin fairy hills, then ride through pine forests and small villages. Dinner and overnight at a homestay in the Quan Ba or Yen Minh area. Each guest rides with their own easy rider, and luggage travels in a small bag strapped to the bike.
-
Day 2 Yen Minh to Lung Cu and Dong Van
A spectacular riding day across the Dong Van Karst Plateau. We cross the Tham Ma Pass and its hairpin bends, stop at the Hmong King’s palace in Sa Phin and ride through the Sung La valley, known for its earth-walled houses and buckwheat flowers in late autumn. In the afternoon we reach Lung Cu and climb to the flag tower near the northernmost point of Vietnam. We end the day in Dong Van, with time to walk through the old quarter in the evening. Overnight in a homestay or guesthouse.
-
Day 3 Ma Pi Leng, the Nho Que River and Du Gia
We ride the Ma Pi Leng Pass in the morning light, stopping often to look down at the turquoise Nho Que River far below. From the valley floor we take a boat through the Tu San canyon, where the cliffs rise steeply on both sides, an unforgettable view from the water. After lunch in Meo Vac, we leave the main loop for a quieter road south to Du Gia, a peaceful valley of rice fields and Tay stilt houses. Dinner and overnight with a local family. The Tay family welcomes you with tea, and dinner is cooked with rice from their fields, river fish and vegetables from the garden, served on the veranda of the stilt house.
-
Day 4 Du Gia Waterfall and Return to Hanoi
A slow morning in Du Gia: walk or ride to the waterfall for a swim if the weather is warm, and wander through the village. We then ride back towards Ha Giang city on winding roads through the valleys, stopping for lunch on the way. In the afternoon you say goodbye to your easy riders and take the limousine bus or private car back to Hanoi, arriving in the evening. Your guide makes sure your onward transfer to your hotel is arranged. The road out of Du Gia is one of the quietest in the region, lined with rice terraces and small hamlets, and it is a gentle way to end four days in the mountains.
