Day 1 Angkor Thom, Bayon and Ta Prohm
We meet you in Siem Reap and drive to Angkor Thom, the walled royal city. We walk through the South Gate to the Bayon, with its more than 200 smiling stone faces, then the Terrace of the Elephants. After lunch we visit Ta Prohm, where giant trees grow through the temple walls, and end the day with sunset from a quieter temple. Your guide plans the visits to avoid the biggest crowds, often visiting the main temples in a different order from the large groups. There is time for photos and quiet moments, and plenty of shade and rest stops. Lunch is at a local restaurant in a village near the temples.

Day 2 Sunrise at Angkor Wat and Banteay Srei
An early start for sunrise at Angkor Wat, then a long walk through its galleries and carved walls while it is still cool. After breakfast we drive through villages to Banteay Srei, a small 10th-century temple in pink sandstone with some of the finest carvings in Angkor. We return to Siem Reap in the afternoon. Banteay Srei is about 40 minutes from Siem Reap by road, and the drive passes through villages where families make palm sugar and sell it along the road. In the afternoon you are free to rest, swim at the hotel or explore the town and its markets on your own.
